The storefront that used to house Amigo's Taco Shop is now home to a new restaurant: FoodTopia. Opening their doors on April 17th, they are located at 2455 S Main St. in the same plaza as the Goodwill Boutique and Dollar General. The restaurant is operated by Chad and Deena Smith, the former owners of the downtown mainstay, The Greek Garden. While FoodTopia features several Greek menu items, there are plenty of less exotic offerings on the menu.
They currently only feature a Lunch menu, but their selection is far from sparse. It includes everything from Gyros, Traditional Greek Salads, Spinach Pie, and Baklava to 14 different wraps, a wide variety of side dishes, and various other appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. Eventually, they also plan to add a selection of Dinner specials to their menu.
FoodTopia is open Mon.-Thurs. from 11am-9pm, Fri.-Sat. from 11am-10pm, and Sun. from 11am-6pm. You can reach them at 419-422-0800 for carryout or curbside pickup, and they also offer free delivery to businesses (with a $20 minimum order).

Grand Openings That We Missed
A couple of new restaurants have opened in Findlay, and we realized a bit too late that we didn't announce their Grand Openings. However, we believe in the saying, "Better late than never," so here you are:
The Bedrock Cafe, located at 2227 Tiffin Ave., opened its doors March 2nd. Housed in the old Ruby Tuesday building (next door to GFS Marketplace and across from Meijer), their selection features a variety of American fare including appetizers, hot soups daily, a variety of salads, 21 different sandwiches, wraps and burgers, a number of grilled entrees, pastas, and a special section of the menu devoted to fajitas. Open 7 days a week from 11am-10pm, they can be reached for carry-out or reservations at 419-425-8721 or 419-425-8726.
Opened just a week ago, the Cedar Valley Cafe is located at 1132 Tiffin Ave. (next to Tim Horton's, near the US 12 split). Setting up shop in the building formerly occupied by Kona Town (and, before that, Skyline Chili), Cedar Valley Cafe features an impressive menu of Lebanese & American cuisine. From the numerous kebabs and kibbies to a variety of salads, stuffed grape leaves, Hummus, Baba ghanoush or Moutabal, there seems to be enough to keep anyone busy sampling the various authentic dishes. Open Sun.-Thurs. from 11am-9pm and Fri.-Sat. from 11am-10pm, you can call ahead for pick-up (making use of their drive-thru) at (567) 525-5665.

Grand Opening: Royal Buffet
Many of you were probably disappointed to see Ryan's Steak House close its doors, as were we. Sitting vacant for quite some time now, the old building should be seeing a great deal of traffic in the near future. This Tuesday, March 16th, the property will be host to the grand opening of the Royal Buffet.

Tiffin Ave. Burger King To Host Grand-Reopening
After months of remodeling, the Burger King located at 1700 Tiffin Ave. (by the Findlay Village Mall) will be hosting their grand-reopening celebration this Saturday, March 13th.
Featuring a live remote with 100.5 WKXA from 2pm-4pm and a visit from sprint race car & driver D.J. Foos from 11-am-3pm, there will be plenty of fun, food, and festivities.
Also slated is a drawing to win a Wii game system, an iPod Shuffle, and a Dr. Pepper Bike & helmet, and the Burger King himself will be there to meet & greet. Hopefully we can get some pictures!

Upcoming Grand Openings
We have seen the sign on the side of the building for a bit now, and thought it might be worth mentioning: Findlay is getting an AJ's Heavenly Pizza franchise, which will be opening up this March 4th. You can find AJ's all over Northern Ohio, and as one reviewer describes them:
AJ's Heavenly Pizza will be located at 1404 N. Main St, and you can reach them at 419-423-7494 for Carryout or Delivery.
Also celebrating their Grand Opening this March 1st will be Jim's Hot Dogs. Jim Steffen, the owner, previously owned and operated Jim's Gym on the north end of town. More recently you may have seen him out and around Findlay, or at a special event (like Boogie on Main) with his mobile hot dog cart. If you've had his hot dogs before, or you know Jim himself, I'm sure you're as excited as we are to see how he fares in a permanent location.
Jim's Hot Dogs will be located at 103 E. Sandusky St. downtown, across from Revolver. Their phone number is 567-251-3647 and their website is located at www.JimsHotDogs.net. The site is currently under construction, but you can see their entire menu and find out more at their Facebook fan page.
AJ's is known as "The Home of the Jumbo." This pizza is huge and can serve several people. There are also 10", 12", 14", and 18" sizes with all the usual toppings. Also on the menu are pasta dishes (spaghetti and lasagna), subs (served hot on fresh homemade buns), salads, foldovers, appetizers (wings, poppers, breadsticks, mozzarella sticks), and desserts (cinnamon sticks and brownies).
